Tricks used to maintain control of their intended victims include: Threats and Fear If it is a same sex situation, they sometimes will threaten to tell everyone that the child is a homosexual. They tell them that their family won't believe them or love them anymore. They threaten to hurt those the child loves the most. They say that people will believe that they were a participant and not a victim. 2. What are the long term affects on a child who is living in fear of their molester? Uncontrolled anger Inability to socialize adequately; Low self esteem, Sometimes they act out and become child molesters themselves. Some develop deep psychosis and need long term therapy. 3. What kind of emergency could a predator devise to get a child to go with them? Your mom or dad has been in a terrible accident, you must come with me right away, they sent me to get you. Have a family code word. 4. How can parents help their children avoid becoming a victim of an authority figure or local hero that intends to victimize them? Have periodic discussions reminding their kids to come to them if anyone ever tries to hurt them or make them do something they don't want to do. IN THE MAJORITY OF CASES CHILDREN DON”T LIE ABOUT THESE KINDS OF THINGS It's best to Error on the side of the child. It lowers their defenses and because it can arouse their physical senses, making them feel dirty and that they have done something terrible even to watch it. The predator makes them think that they are a participant and they then threaten that they will tell everyone what they have done and no one will believe they were a victim. They often take pictures or video of acts they commit on the child then use blackmail. 6.
