S.A.F.E. Network Declares War Against Child Predators

CLOVIS , CALIFORNIA , Apr 05, 2007 -- Safety Awareness & Family Education Network today announced its 2007 Child Abuse Prevention Month Campaign: Kid Power--The Power to Say No to Sexual Abuse . Meeting its commitment to providing weapons that help fight the war waged by sexual predators who take daily aim at U.S. children, S.A.F.E. Network has added to its ever growing arsenal the ‘Parenting Your Kids Away from Abuse: A Parent's Guide on Protecting Your Kids from Sexual Predators' .

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children states that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 10 boys will be sexually victimized before they reach 18 and that the most effective way to fight sexual abuse is to educate kids with an on-going program. S.A.F.E. Network is fighting on the front lines using curriculum that meets NCMEC's guidelines, and is reaching kids through military Family Advocacy Programs, Native American Education Centers, YMCA's, Foster Family Agencies, churches, and community youth organizations throughout the U.S.

For 8 years S.A.F.E. Network has been, teaching these vital life skills so today's youth can make their way through the mine fields left by sexual predators; Predators that keep their arsenal stocked with devious tricks and lures, date rape drugs, emotional blackmail, the internet, pornography, and many other tactics that deviate only slightly depending on the age of their victims. All of the recognized youth protection agencies agree that our youth must be taught how to protect themselves since 70% of children molested are molested by someone they know, and most often by a family member.

The concept behind the Personal Protection Empowerment Program is that if a child is taught what is inappropriate behavior and how to counter it, they can better avoid or get away from a sexually abusive situation and report the predatory behavior to someone they know and trust.
