mean they get out of doing the dishes, taking out the trash
and helping their teachers at school). Discuss
what to do in case of
an emergency.
Be
internet literate -
supervisor your child’s
online
time and access.
Really
listen to what your
child is saying and respond
to their concerns.
Waiting in a public parking lot after dark or after
store hours.
At
playgrounds after hours, at night or unsupervised at anytime.
Traveling
to and from school alone.
In
isolated areas, i.e. stairways,
public restrooms, shortcuts. Riding a bike alone.
Exploring
abandoned buildings and their surroundings.
Waiting
in an unlocked, parked car.

the internet when parent
supervision is absent. here to start.
Maintain accurate up-to- date records
on your children including photographs, finger prints,
and
other important data which would
help authorities and yourself in
locating your child if they came up
missing.-
Keep
photo ID in your wallet
or purse whenever you are out
with your children; also provide
anyone else who might have care
and responsibility for your child
and make sure they have it on
them when the child is with them. See
if your school has a call system where you are called
if the child doesn’t show up for school. Keep
watch on your children
going to and from school. Know
the timing and their schedule so
that you can be alert to any
deviation from the norm. Rehearse
(Roll Play) with
your children the do’s and don’ts
of behavior when faced with
someone attempting to get them to
do something they know or
suspect is not right.
