S.A.F.E. Network, Inc., is a national non-profit organization that works to prevent the sexual abuse of children. We are a 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization. Our Federal Tax Identification Number is 77-0508287 and our Federal tax records (IRS Form 990’s) are available upon request. S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. owns and operates the safenetwork.org website (“safenetwork.org” or the “Site”), including the kids and teen websites www.safeteens101.org and kidtips101.org which are part of safenetwork.org. S.A.F.E. Network also operates a free, national telephone Helpline (1.800-643-3310).

Our Commitment to Privacy

S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personally identifiable informationi that we may gather about you through your visits to safenetwork.org, and through communication with our Helpline. This document will help you understand what information we collect about you, and how we handle that information once we collect it. This policy tells you if we disclose that information to others, and what choices you may have regarding how we use that information. Please note that this Privacy Policy applies only to safenetwork.org, and not to the websites of any third parties to which we may link or that may link to us. You should review the privacy policies of any third party websites, as they will be different from this one.

S.A.F.E. Network, Inc.uses cookies to enhance your experience while using the Site. S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. gathers, or aggregates, certain usage information about the Site, such as the number and frequency of visitors to safenetwork.org, length of stay, and other anonymous data. This data helps us determine usage levels on different parts of safenetwork.org, and to conduct other internal research. We may disclose this kind of information in an aggregate form only, without any personally identifiable informationi, to sponsors, supporters, and other third parties. As stated above, for these uses, we do not disclose any information that could be used to identify you personally.

Registration

There are certain pages on safenetwork.org, such as subscription, forum or donation pages, where we may request some personally identifiable information about you, such as your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, or credit card number. S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. may seek such information in order to register you as a supporter of S.A.F.E. Network, Inc., to enable your making a donation or purchasing merchandise, or to enable you to use certain parts of safenetwork.org. We save the information that you provide on these pages so that you are not required to submit the same information every time you use a particular feature. We use third party vendors to handle all our online financial transactions, as discussed in more detail in the section entitled “Financial Information.”

In addition, we may use such information to analyze site usage for safenetwork.org, to improve our content, to better understand our member and supporter base and to customize the Site's content, layout, and services. Finally, we may use your e-mail address to send you updates or newsletters apprising you of recent events and developments relating to S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. and its mission, or receipts for your charitable donations.

Newsletter Subscription and Opt-Out Procedures:

S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. does not currently have a newsletter in place and will add that information when it is added as a feature of this site.

Financial Information

We work with vendors to handle all our online financial transactions, including online donations and sales. Credit card and bank detail information that you provide is not retained on our web servers.

To ensure the maximum level of security is applied to your data, data transmitted from the Site is encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). In addition, we work only with vendors who ensure that all financial transmissions over the internet to and from their sites use SSL. None of these vendors will use your personally identifiable informationi for any purpose other than as authorized by you at the Site or their sites.

Network for Good
Our online donations may be processed through Sage Payments. All financial information is transmitted directly to and stored by its servers. See Sage Payments ’ terms of use and privacy policy.

PayPal
Our online donations will soon be processed through PayPal as well. Users are not required to have a PayPal account to process an online credit card donation, except to establish automatic, recurring donations. All financial information is transmitted directly to and stored by PayPal, and is covered under PayPal’s terms of use and privacy policy.

Surveys and Questionnaires

Occasionally we may invite you to fill in questionnaires or surveys while you are online at the Site. The data collected by the questionnaire or survey will only be used for the purpose stated on the form, and for no other purpose. You may also be given the opportunity to add your address details to our databases so we can contact you in the future.

Online Comments

S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. invites you to submit anonymous online comments and feedback through different forms on the Site. By submitting such information, you hereby grant permission to S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. to use these comments on the Site or in other S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. materials. We may, for example, provide compilations of your comments to national leaders and other individuals participating in our efforts or make comments to the press and public online. No personally identifiable informationi about you will be disclosed because the comment was submitted anonymously.

You may sometimes have the option of providing personally identifiable informationi along with your comment. If you choose to provide such personally identifiable informationi, none of your personally identifiable informationi will be included with comments without your express consent.

Email This Page Services

If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about the Site, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Site. S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. stores this information, but uses it only to send this one-time email. The friend may contact S.A.F.E. Network, Inc.to request removal of this information from our database.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell, rent, or lend any information about our users or donors to any other organizations or businesses.

Other Uses

We may use internal service providers to facilitate our services, and, therefore, may provide some of your personally identifiable information directly to them. In addition, we may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, data analysis, and providing customer service.  These companies and individuals will only have access to personally identifiable information needed to perform their functions, and may not use it for any other purpose.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., ("Google"), which uses cookies and tracking code to help analyze how visitors use the Site. The information collected, (including what browser and operating system you are using, your IP address, the pages on the Site that you visit, your number of page views, and the time you spend on the Site,) is transmitted to and stored by Google. Google uses this information for the purpose of evaluating visitors' use of the Site in an aggregate manner, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google may transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or to third parties that process information on Google's behalf. We are concerned about the safety and privacy of children who use the Internet. safenetwork.org, is for adults and usage by children is not intended; however, if children age 17 or under contact us, we will refer them to appropriate our websites that are designed for their viewing, www.kidtips101.org and safeteens101.org. We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone age 17 or under without prior verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that a child age 17 or under has provided us with personally identifiable information through safenetwork.org without verifiable parental consent, we will use our best efforts to remove such information from our files. We do not publish, sell, share, or rent information about you in ways different from what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Privacy When You Call the S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. Helpline (1.800.643-3310)

Description

Call 1.800.643.3310 for the Helpline's available hours. No Caller ID is used on this line. Since 1998, the S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. Helpline (1.800.643.3310) has provided a confidential place for people to speak about a subject that they thought was unspeakable. We offer a chance for adults to voice their personal fears about their own or someone else’s sexualized thoughts or behavior toward children. Often our callers indicate that they have never spoken these words out loud before.

What Callers Get

With guidance from our professional staff, adults can: learn about sexual abuse, and find language for an effective conversation when they have concerns; and learn how to report those concerns to authorities when appropriate.

Confidentiality

We are committed to creating a private place where callers can freely and openly discuss their concerns about child sexual abuse and consider what steps to take next. We maintain your confidentiality as long as you keep your anonymity. To maintain privacy, callers should avoid mentioning personally identifying information, such as last names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and employers of anyone directly involved in an abusive situation. S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. does not need any of these details to provide you with helpful guidance and resources.

Helpline Caller Comments

Helpline staff sometimes request permission from callers to use their comments on the Site or in other S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. materials for marketing and reporting purposes. These comments will only be used if permission is granted. Helpline caller comments are always anonymous and contain no personally identifiable informationi.

Filing Reports

We will offer assistance if a caller wishes to file a report with the appropriate authorities. If a caller chooses to provide S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. with identifying information about specific people involved in a particular child abuse situation, S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. may be required to file a report with the appropriate authorities. If you have further questions concerning our confidentiality policy, please ask at the beginning of your Helpline call.

Limits of Helpline Service

Please be aware that the Helpline does not offer therapy, legal advice, or investigative services. If you are looking for any of these services, we do offer a limited listing of these resources. If you need legal advice or counsel, please consult an attorney directly. Any resource referral does not constitute an endorsement by S.A.F.E. Network, Inc. of the activities or views of that individual or organization.

Lack of Security in Email Exchanges
