THE "WHAT IF" GAME
As seen on the Oregon Police Clearing House Site

Try playing the "what if' game with your children. This may help your child think about what they will do and how they will react in different circumstances.

HERE ARE SOME IDEAS TO START WITH:

What if our family goes to the mall and all of a sudden you turn around and you can't see us anywhere?

What if you are playing at the playground and a man comes up to you and says, "Your mom was in an accident and I'm supposed to take you to see her at the hospital."?

What if you are on your way home from school and your friends want to go to the mall? You're suppose to go straight home and stay there until your mom and dad get home from work. What would you do?

What if you went with your friends to the store and while you were there your friends took some candy without paying for it?

What if you are at the movies and you go into the bathroom and somebody touches you in a place  where they shouldn't?

What if you're camping and you ride your bike on a trail and can't find your way back to camp?

What if you are on your way home and a car slows down and the person inside the car asks you for directions?

What if a stranger tries to pull you into their car?

What if you are home alone and someone asks if they can talk to your parents?
